And then there was 1!
Hi everyone, firstly I'd like to congratulate Ross on his great 50km cycle today. He hit over 40k last week for the first time so it is a great achievement. Secondly, I'm calling on for new or old members who want to start training with the club again to show up next Sunday. We leave from the pool in Portarlington at 10:30. Hope to see a few more of you there next week.

And we're off
It might have been a slow start to the season's training but it took off today with gusto. The junior element of the club got their first taste of the senior sessions and it was a great success. We hooked up with the seniors in Portarlington and just about managed to stay with them as far as the turn off for Victorstown. I'm hoping that this will be a regular occurance as it gives the juniors a better feel for the club and in turn the club gets to know the juniors. I'm already looking forward to next Sunday.

Cycle Sunday!
Hi everyone. Today was suppose to be the first Junior cycle training day. I know a good few of you went out for your run yesterday however NO ONE showed up for the cycle today. It was very disappointing. I'll be at the gym next Sunday and the following Sunday after that again at 10:30. If there is a no show, there will be no coached Junior cycles. It is up to you.

Training to start in 2 weeks.
Juniors, sorry for the lack of training over the last 2 months. I was out on injury. Training is to start again in 2 weeks time. That is the weekend of the 30th and 31st of January. However, it will not start unless there is enough people interested. Be prepared for runs on Saturday after swim session and cycles on Sunday. You no not need to take part in both sessions but it would be better if you could. Ask parents permission to text me with your name and age if you will be taking part. My phone number is 087 1341074.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Sean & Susan
Tonight two of our juniors headed into the sunset in style. I hope to get the photos up here soon. They went to Sean's Debs and needles to say, they scrub up well. Trisuits do not do these pair justice.
Also Johnnathan texted me the results of the triathlon that was held in the Curragh last week. Well done to our participants. Wesley's team came in 3rd in the relay with a time of 1hr 20mins. Johnathan was placed 36th with a time of 1hr 31min 18sec with Siobhan, not too far behind him in 41st place with a time of 1hr 33min 1 sec and coming in right behind her, Denise was placed 42nd with a time of 1hr 33min 9secs.

Test Tri Series Winners are....
Firstly I'ld like to congratulate all the juniors who took part in the Test Tri and Test Duathlon series for 2009. There are some really good times and as relative beginners to the sport, there are certainly some seniors (myself included) worried about how good you are going to get. The Test Tri Series winner in the Female category goes to Siobhan O'Toole whose swim has gone from strength to strength. Well done Siobhan. We look forward to you joining our training sessions over the winter. Michael Dalton's composure throughout the season had us all marvelling and wondering at his amazing talent. As he knocked out a new PB at each Test tri we are really looking forward to finding out what he can do with a season of training and experiece under his belt. Well done to everyone. Roll on some fun training sessions for November.

Congratulations
Well done to all of you who participated in the Heritage Challenge last Saturday. I was looking at the results and the photos and it looked like everyone had a great race. Also congratulations on selecting great parents that helped out with the marshalling. Only for them, you wouldn't have had a race to compete in!! See you next Saturday at the final test tri of 2009.

Help needed for the Heritage
Hi Guys, first of all best of luck to those of you who are taking part in the Heritage Challenge this Saturday. I'm sorry I won't be there to see you but I know you'll do really well. At the moment, the club desperately needs more marshals so if you are bringing along a friend or if your parents are willing to help out, will you please contact me on 0871341074 and I'll pass the details onto the race organizers. Remember these races are not possible without the help of volunteers. So a big thank you in advance to those of you who can spare 2 hours between 7am and 12pm.
